Many people find it hard to get the right amount of fruits and vegetables into their diet every day. The fact that there is so much unhealthy and inexpensive fast food all over makes it even harder. Juicing is a simple solution for a great way to get all your fruits and vegetables.

Fruits and vegetables retain the most nutritional value when you consume it raw. That means that cooking it in anyway, such as steaming, baking, boiling and frying will destroy some of the nutrients. The length of cooking time will further affect the nutritional value. The problem is that it is boring and time consuming to just eat raw fruits and vegetables all the time. By juicing, you can extract almost all of the nutrients and enzymes from your produce into one glass.

Besides the great health benefits, juicing is great because of its versatility. All sorts of fruits and vegetables can be juiced, including rinds which you normally would not eat.

They can all be mixed and matched to create endless delicious combinations. Similarly, if there are fruits or vegetables that you do not like the taste of, you can mix them together with juice that you do like to mask the flavor. This way, you get the health benefits of those distasteful foods without the taste!

There are several different juicers. A citrus juicer is made to only juice citrus fruits, such as oranges, grapefruits, lemons and limes. While limited, it does a great job of juicing citrus fruits if you want a glass of orange juice or fresh lemon juice to make lemonade. A centrifugal juicer can juice a bunch of fruits and vegetables, and it is affordable. However, it juices by spinning really fast, and the heat generated can kill off some of the important nutrients and enzymes in the juice.

It also doesn’t do a good job of juicing leafy greens such as broccoli or spinach. If you have the money and want to do some serious juicing, you should get an auger juicer.

An auger juicer basically chews up and crushes produce and squeezes the juice out of it. It is very good at extracting juice, and it operates at a low speed so it won’t kill any of the nutrients or enzymes. It will juice almost anything, including leafy greens and even wheatgrass. An auger juicer also has some other uses too, including the ability to make pulpy foods such as applesauce and baby food, and can even make pasta (with the right attachment)! If you have the money and some room in your kitchen, an auger juicer is the way to go.

Juicing offers so many benefits that there is no reason to not own one. Learn more about juicers and juicer recipes at Easy Juicer Recipes!
